"Zebra & Darth Zebra"
Endangered Series
Medium: Lineoleum Block Print   Size: 4x5

My first real attempt at making a lineoleum block print after seeing an exhibit at the Carnegie Museum of Art about Japanese Block Printing.  The Zebra is from the Pittsburgh Zoo and I cropped down the picture I used to make a more graphic piece.

The lines reminded so much of Darth Maul from Star Wars that I printed a piece onto a dark red paper and named it Darth Zebra.  There can only be 2...one master and one apprentice.

"Giant Panda"
Endangered Series
Medium:  Lineoleum Block Print  Size: 4x6

This is the second block from the Endangered Species series of block prints that I have started to develop.  The Giant Panda is endangered and has less than 1600 left in the wild.

Bald Eagle
Endangered Series
Medium: Lineoleum Block Print   Size: 4x6

This is the third in the series of Endangered Species.  I had issues with this particular block and in the process lost a lot of detail.  I am not fond of it, but decided to post it anyways and plan on developing a new one to replace this one.  I will show them side by side when the time comes.  The Bald Eagle was actually removed from the Endangered Species list in 2007.  30 years prior the eagle was moving ever so closer to extinction.  With help from the Endangered Species Act of 1972, the birds numbers have risen and is now no longer a species in need of help.

"Green Sea Turtle"
Endangered Series
Medium: Lineoleum Block Print   Size: 4x6

The fourth print in the Endangered Series is of a Green Sea Turtle.  The Green Sea Turtle is the largest of all of the Sea Turtles and is also the only herbivore.  They are endangered due to accidentally fishing of (getting caught in fishing nets, etc) and habitat loss.
